Juneau Parents for Safe Graduation originated in 1989 with the intention to provide a safe, alcohol and drug free venue for all Juneau area high school seniors to celebrate their achievement. This organization has grown over the years and is now a event all seniors look forward to each year.
"Parents for Safe Graduation" is a non-profit organization (EIN 90-0181220), 100% run by volunteers (normally parents of seniors or rising seniors from the Juneau School District). It is fully funded through donations from business and personal sources. Each year a variety of committees are formed to fundraise and organize this event.
"Safe Grad" is held the night of school graduation ceremonies from 10:00PM - 2:00AM (ish). Student ID's are checked at the door and students are welcome to stay for the duration of the evening, however once a student leaves this event, re-entry to the event is not allowed. The evening consists of games, prizes, food, and entertainment. Your donations help to make this event possible. Any leftover funds are carried over to help the following years committee with start up costs (fundraising, ect.)
